Skog Cedar Sauna

Skog strips the sauna back to its origins. Horizontal clear cedar, one floating bench without visible fixings, and a single square window placed to frame trees rather than to light the room. There is no screen, no speaker and no chromotherapy. What remains is the aroma of hot cedar and the sound of water on stone, which for many owners is the entire reason they wanted a sauna in the first place.

Nothing asks for your attention, which is the luxury. The cedar smell arrives about four minutes in and stays with you afterwards.

Fifteen to twenty minutes of heat, three or four evenings a week, ideally followed by cold and then by stillness. Most owners find the routine settles into the hour before sleep.
