Obsidian Architectural Sauna

Obsidian was drawn for houses finished in dark stone and blackened steel, where a pale timber box would look like an intrusion. The exterior is charred ash with a hand-oiled finish; the interior is a deeper thermo-ash with a single continuous warm light band behind the backrest, and bronze hardware throughout. It is the most atmospheric cabin in the collection and the one most often specified alongside a black plunge.

It is almost theatrical when lit. Inside, the darkness makes twenty minutes pass differently — you notice your breathing rather than the room.

Fifteen to twenty minutes of heat, three or four evenings a week, ideally followed by cold and then by stillness. Most owners find the routine settles into the hour before sleep.
